July 1st, 2008 The Crown King Volunteer Fire Department is in desperate need of help. Please read the following letter sent to us: An account has been opened for the Volunteer Fire Department in Crown King. This account is listed as a "Memorial Account" under my name and the beneficiary as "Benefit of Crown King Fire Department." All money will remain in the account until the end of the 90 days at which point the bank will issue a check to the Crown King Fire Department. All records of this account will be available upon request. As many of you know the town has been evacuated and many of the people displaced. The volunteers are mostly residents of the town and have been working day and night to save their town and their homes. The outlook for may of these families is grim. The Fire Department relies on grants and donations to operate, and many of their resources will be depleted after this is over. |
